ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court has issued order for withholding the by-poll in NA-123 and issue notices to the parties. Talking to media on Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer, Akram Sheikh Advocate said that the SC withheld the by-election until the resolution of dispute. The apex court three-member Bench, headed by Justice Musa Laghari comprising of Justice Zawwar Hussain Jaffery and Justice Farrukh Saeed, was hearing the petition against restraining Mian Nawaz Sharif from contesting election.
Regular hearing of the case will be held from next Monday. Talking to a private TV channel, Attorney General Malik Muhammad Qayyum said that the petition filed by the federation has raised the major objection and important question of the competence of Lahore High Court (LHC) hearing that whether or not LHC had the authority to give decision on this writ petition.
While National Assembly session would be held on July 14. According to the sources of Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, the lower house session would be started on July 14. The ministry would be sent summary to President about the NA session and the constitutional package would be presented in the assembly.-SANA
