229 MPs participated in NA debate on budget: Speaker
PPP committee considers budget strategy
ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza has said that about two hundred twenty-nine legislators participated in six days debate on budget and put forth many positive suggestions. In an interview in Islamabad, she appreciated both the opposition and the treasury for smooth passing of finance bill and setting new parliamentary traditions. She said it was for the first time that suggestions sent by Senate were debated in the National Assembly and defence budget was also presented in the house.
A meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party parliamentary committee under chairmanship of its parliamentary leader Pir Mazharul Haq has chalked out the strategy for the approval of provincial budget. The meeting was held in the chamber of Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Monday. Chief Minster Qaim Ali Shah, provincial ministers and Sindh Assembly members attended the meeting. The meeting also reviewed other issues related with budget besides considering a strategy for its approval while the budget session of Sindh Assembly resumed in Karachi in the morning with Deputy Speaker Ms Shehla Raza in the chair.

Earlier, a meeting of Pakistan people’s Party parliamentary party was held at the Chief Minister’s Chamber in the provincial assembly. Presided by the PPP parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly, Pir Mazhar ul Haq, the meeting reviewed a number of issues regarding budget session.-SANA
