ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim Thursday urged the people not to pay electricity bills if they feel these do not reflect the frequent load-shedding undertaken by the utility on daily basis. Talking to media outside Parliament house, he pointed out that the importance of this basic utility cannot be over-exaggerated for the development of the country. People are forced to come out and sleep in the outdoor because of prolonged power outages. Amin Faheem has finally raised the flag of agitation against Co-chairman of PPP and widower of Ms Bhutto, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari. People of Pakistan would be more than happy not to pay electricity bill and start gathering around Amin Fahim. They are paying more than half of our their income to utility bills. Electricity is otherwise not available for 12-13 hours; what if totally cut? So they probably would like this solution.

Despite the load-shedding the people are made to pay full electricity bills which, he said, is an explicit malpractice on part of the utility company. This should not be allowed to happen, he stressed. To a question regarding budget, Amin Fahim said the budget should be for common and middle class people. It is the people who actually run the country and if they are not facilitated then there is no point in undertaking the tedious exercise, he added.

Think tanks have also shown their concerns over the political strategies of Mr. Zardari. Breaking a 5-month silence for being ignored for the post of premiership by party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Amin Fahim, said “the Pakistan People’s Party belongs to Bhuttos and not Zardaris.”

Fahim is still the president of Pakistan People’s Party (Parliamentarian) as registered by the Election Commission. Calling for the restoration of democracy and restitution of judges, he said “the PPP struggled and offered great sacrifices but at present the party is drifting from its basic principles.”However keeping in view his previous precedents of loyalties with PPP prevents people to make an opinion like this.

Tomorrow a big congregation is held at Liatqat Bagh RawalPindi where all Anti Zardari PPP leaders including Aitazaz ahsan, Amin Faheem, Jahangir Badar and Naheed Khan etc are gathering to celebrate Late Ms. Bhutto Birthday. it has also been said that These leaders would now be lurking around Fatima Bhutto niece of the Late Ms. Bhutto.
