PM advises provincial govt to bare minimum protocol for him

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed provincial governments to make only necessary security arrangements and bare minimum protocol for him so as to spare the people of the inconvenience caused by his movement whenever he visits a city. He has taken serious notice of the congestion and long traffic queues caused by his movement. The provincial governments have been directed that during the Prime Minister’s movement traffic should be stopped only when absolutely necessary and creative efforts should be made to divert the traffic to alternative routes.

In current regime previously Prime Minister for Punjab Mr. Dost Mohammad Khosa has refused to take the protocol for him. While The Pakistani government has given official protocol to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari like the country’s president and prime minister. Zardari has three personal bullet-proof Land Cruisers equipped with jammers besides police security and personal guards.

It is important to note that protocol is provided for the security of high ups.
