Pak-UK discuss anti-drug trafficking cooperation


ISLAMABAD: Acting High Commissioner of United Kingdom Ray Tyles called on the Federal Minister for Narcotics Control and Food & Agriculture Nazar Mohammad Gondal here today and discussed matters pertaining to strengthening anti-drug trafficking cooperation between the two countries. Secretary Narcotics Control Division Mr. K.B. Rind, Director Anti-Narcotics Force Brig. Pervez Sarwar, Ms. Kathrin Alain, Political Secretary of UK High Commission and senior officials of the Ministry of Narcotics Control also attended the meeting.

The Minister informed the acting UK High Commissioner about the steps taken by the Government of Pakistan to eliminate drug trafficking. He said that Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) was keeping a strong vigil on drug traffickers by employing sophisticated means which were bringing fruitful results in controlling narcotics trafficking. He appreciated the UK cooperation being extended to Pakistan for consolidating anti-drug measures.

Acting UK High Commissioner lauded the efforts of the Government of Pakistan for eliminating drug trafficking. He assured that UK would continue to extend all out cooperation to Pakistan in controlling drug trafficking.-SANA
