ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that despite enormous challenges Pakistan will be made a real Islamic democratic welfare state with the help of the people. He was delivering a lecture on the topic of “My Vision of the Future Pakistan” at the National Defense University here on Thursday. He said the government is committed to ensure social justice, rule of law, tolerance and moderation in the society and overcome the challenges.
The Prime Minister deplored that despite having vast resources and energetic manpower we could not exploit and use them for the benefit of the people. He hoped that under the policy of national reconciliation, the country would become stronger, prosperous and invincible. He said measures are also being taken to improve the micro and macro economy of the country.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in his lecture also highlighted major challenges faced by the country and hoped that these would be overcome with the cooperation of the people. The Prime Minister pointed out that politicians, bureaucracy, media, members of the judiciary, civil society represented by only elites and above all a few amongst the military leadership are responsible for the prevailing gloomy situation in the country.
He said Pakistan has paid heavy price for all the wrong actions which damaged the country that has become irreparable. The people love military and admire its personnel but these feelings turned into disapproval and aversion when they interfered in politics.-SANA
