ISLAMABAD: Former Chief Minister Punjab and Member National Assembly Mian Manzoor Wattoo announced his joining of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the presence of PPP Co-Chairman Senator Asif Ali Zardari here on Thursday at a ceremony held at the at the Parliament Lodges. Manzoor Wattoo said that he had worked closely with the party as the Chief Minister of Punjab and believed that PPP was the only federal party in the country that had roots in the masses and was equally popular in all the four provinces.
He wowed to work to make PPP stronger in the province of Punjab. Senator Asif Ali Zardari welcomed Manzoor Wattoo in the party and said that Wattoo was a seasoned politician and PPP will like to use his experience in streamlining the party activities in different parts of the Punjab province. Mr. Wattoo has proved his political acumen and foresightedness by joining PPP, he added. Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf also spoke on the occasion. PPP Co-Chairman was also accompanied by Secretary General PPP, Mr. Jehangir Badar in the meeting.-SANA
