Country cannot afford confrontation: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the Government was pursuing constitutional and legal course as the country cannot afford confrontation. He was responding to questions by newsmen in Islamabad on Thursday. Asked to comment on reports about impeachment of the President, the Prime Minister said there is an opinion but it is for the coalition partners to consider the issue. He said it is for the parliament to decide such things as it is a sovereign body.

About vacation of army house he said it is up to the President. Replying to a question the Prime Minister said the PPP and PML (N) have their own programmes and manifestos and their coalition is reflective of unity in diversity. He said they would foil all conspiracies against the coalition. To another question the Prime Minister said it would be every effort of the government to provide relief to the poor in the forthcoming budget. The Prime Minister said people of Pakistan gave mandate to the present Government to address the crises of electricity and price hike and it is determined to overcome these problems.-SANA
