Farooq asks Singh to be flexible on Kashmir in Pakistan

SRINAGAR: Former Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir and National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah has asked Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to adopt flexible approach on Kashmir during his visit to Pakistan. Addressing a meeting here, Dr Abdullah said that Kashmiris believe that peace shall return to State only if Kashmir issue is resolved. He said that Kashmiris continue to suffer due to ongoing bloodshed, the menace of unemployment, economic hardships etc. and till the time “Kashmir issue is resolved amicably peace can not be established”.

Urging the people to participate in ensuing elections in large numbers, the NC patron said that during last six years of Cong-PDP rule, the problems of people have increased manifold. He said that problems of youth have not been addressed by the coalition Government leading to frustration among them. He said that frustrated youth can become an easy pawn in the hands of anti-social elements.
