Five killed in Sectarian violence in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five persons including a policeman were killed in sectarian violence in Dera Ismail Khan. Four of the victim belonged to the Shiite sect and were killed while traveling from Kotla Syedan toward the city in a rickshaw when unidentified persons sprayed bullets at them near Pir Zakori graveyard at Daraband Road.

According to police sources the four perished on the spot while the culprits were escaping as a policeman, Qismatullah Gandapur, chased them to arrest. However, the attacker also fired at the cop and shot him dead. They said that Qismatullah had arrested one of the culprits when his colleague shot him dead.

The victims were identified as Ghayur Abbas, Hassan Ali Shah, Syed Kifayat Hussain, and Shabir Hussain Shah. Their dead bodies were shifted to the local hospital for postmortem. Bringing back the dead bodies of the victims hundreds of activists of Fiqa-e-Jaferia launched a protest while keeping the corpses on road near Topanwala Chowk. They also hold strong protest demonstration at Circular Road.-SANA
