PESHAWAR: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Chief Baitullah Mehsud has denied his involvement in assassination of Benazir Bhutto. “We have not martyred Benazir Bhutto. If we slain her, then who had killed her father and brothers?” Mehsud said in conversation with local and international media from an unspecified place in South Waziristan.

If the government had any evidence regarding TTP involvement in murder of Benazir Bhutto then it should produce those facts, he said. He however maintained that the government had no proofs and it was extracting statements from the arrested persons by exerting pressure. He also denied kidnapping Pakistani ambassador in Afghanistan Tariq Azizuddin adding that another group of Taliban had abducted the envoy and his group secured release of the ambassador.-SANA
