ISLAMABAD: After the interview of PPP’s Co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari with an Indian news agency, the differences between President Musharraf and the PPP camp has widened, Voice of Germany reports. Asif Ali Zardari called President Pervez Musharraf a relic of the past. The sources close to Presidency said that President Pervez Musharraf has taken a serious notice of Asif Ali Zardari’s comments. Imtiaz Gul reports from Islamabad.
Tension is growing between Presidency and Zardari House. The tension can be guessed from the fact that Asif Zardari refused to pass any comments about President Musharraf in a seminar organized by the SAFMA, the VOG said. “It seems that the time has come when all the forces have started struggle to consolidate their position. Currently it is difficult to define as to what will be the equilibrium between the powers,” the report added.
Analysts are of the view that emergence of misunderstanding between the PPP and the Presidency is not a strange thing. On the one hand Asif Zardari is trying to gain benefits of the NRO and on the other, he does not want to lose support of Mian Nawaz Sharif and the lawyers’ community, he said.-SANA
