APDM to support lawyers’ long march: Liaquat Baloch

ISLAMABAD: All Parties Democratic Movement has announced complete support the long march of Lawyers on June 10 and 11 and announced to hold seminar for release of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. This was announced by the APDM Standing Committee Convener Liaquat Baloch in a joint press conference with other leaders including JUI Ch. Abidur Rehman, JI Naib Amir Punjab chapter Mian Muhammad Aslam on Wednesday.

Liaquat Baloch said that the APDM would cooperate and support the lawyer’s community long march on June 10 and 11 and announced that they would attend the lawyers’ convention on June 09. “Majority of people wants release of Dr. AQ Khan but he is not being released despite the repeated demand of the nation “he added. Liaquat Baloch said that the APDM would hold seminars for the release of Dr. AQ Khan in Lahore and Karachi on June 27 and 28, adding that the alliance leaders ,youths, students , civil society, human rights representatives would attend it.

He said that the APDM would hold National Conference in Islamabad on 18 and 19 June and there would two sessions on first and third session on second day and joint statement would be issued on the conclusion of the conference. He said that Qazi Hussain Ahmad and Imran Khan would Pakistani communities’ functions in Canada, Britain and Saudi Arabia.

The JI Naib Amir announced that the they would welcome the lawyers long mach from Chief Justice of Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry house to Peshawar Mor on May 24. “Gen. Pervez Musharraf as illegal representative of the US, civil and military establishment is present on his slot unconstitutionally and illegally and the nation should be freed from him” he added, He said that the APDM demands were to restore the judiciary and judges in their pre-November 2 position, independence of parliaments, restoration of the constitution of 1973 in its pre-position on October 12, 1999, halting of military operations , recovery of missing persons and political measures for the solution of political issues.

He also demanded to give autonomy to the provinces , resolve the economic problems of the masses. “Secret deal of the rulers about NRO with military and civil establishment is dominating over their charter. He pointed out that the president has not yet impeached despite majority in the parliament and judges were not restored and the militarily operation was still underway and there were crisis of power and flour but the government was ignoring it. Liaquat Baloch made it clear that the nation would not accept any constitutional package which strengthen President Musharraf’s November 3 measures and military and civil establishment. “ PML-N would be welcomed of joining the APDM struggle” he Added.-SANA
