CAIRO: The Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Tuesday arrived in Cairo from Sharm el Sheikh for a brief visit on the last leg of his four day visit to Egypt. Earlier talking to Saudi Minister for Commerce and Industry Abdullah Ali Reda, who called on him on the sideline of the World Economic Forum in Sharm-el-Shaikh, he said Pakistan greatly values its fraternal relations with Saudi Arabia and is keen to expand cooperation with it in all fields.
He said Pakistan offered tremendous investment opportunities and will welcome greater investment from Saudi Arabia. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan planed to hold an investment conference in Saudi Arabia in the second half of this year and would encourage Saudi investors in this regard.
He said Pakistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council had a vital interest in each other’s stability, progress and prosperity.
The Prime Minister said as Pakistan was interested in signing a Free Trade Agreement with GCC , Saudi Arabia can support Pakistan in this connection. The Saudi Minister said it was the policy of the government to encourage its private sector to invest in Pakistan especially in agriculture sector and joint ventures in livestock and dairy development. He said Saudi Arabia was also keen to import rice from Pakistan.-SANA
