Sindh Excise & Taxation Minister for controlling narcotic

LARKANA: Sindh Minister for Excise & Taxation Mukhesh Kumar Chawala has directed the Excise & Taxation officials to come forward and realize their responsibilities to control the narcotics business on the border area of Balochistan and Punjab and other provinces. This he said while presiding over a meeting of Excise & Taxation Officers of Larkana/ Sukkur regions at Circuit house Larkana on Friday. He said that all the field excise officers/officials to perform their duties with uniforms, if any one found in civil dress during their duties the departmental action will be taken against them.

The Minister further said that he satisfied from the performance of the Excise & Taxation Officers/officials working in Recovery Taxation section and he hoped that they would work more and more to collect tax in national interest so that taxation plays a vital role in economy of the Country.

The Excise & Taxation Minister directed the Excise officers that with the permission of the Honorable Courts the seized narcotics may be destroyed throughout Larkana and Sukkur regions. He also said that the present PPP government was trying its utmost to provide relief to the common-men in the Province. During the meeting the Provincial Secretary Excise & Taxation Sindh Muhammad Naseer Jamali stressed the need for more efforts to recover the Property tax and to ensure the punctuality in their offices. He assured that the problems of excise & taxation Officers/Inspectors will be solved and informed them that the two motorcycles will be sent to the Directorate of Larkana for recovery staff. The Secretary also told the meeting the vacant posts lying in the department will be filled-up on merit.

The Director Excise & Taxation Larkana region Qazi Naik Muhammad also informed the meeting that in comparison of the last year an amount of Rs. More then 18 million recovered in different taxes throughout the Larkana region. During the meeting the Excise Inspectors also pointed out the problems, which was heard by the Minister patiently and assured them for cooperation in this regard.-SANA
