PESHAWAR: Federal Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) Senators and MNAs on Saturday called on NWFP Governor Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani at Governor’s House. Federal Minister Hamidullah Jan Afridi, who is MNA from Khyber Agency, was also present on the occasion. The two side discussed matters of common interest particularly those relating to the FATA and respective constituencies of the elected representatives.
The on-going development process in FATA also came under discussion. The Governor informed the delegation of elected representatives that under a well-thought out development strategy, the services delivery system would be made more effective and prompt so that the common tribesmen could get facilities at their door step. He said that education was the top priority followed by health, agriculture and communication network.
Similarly he said that the mineral and other resources, available in FATA were being tapped for the welfare of the tribesmen and development of the area. He hoped that the development outlay for FATA would be substantially increased in order to complete the ongoing projects as early as possible.
Members of the delegation highlighted the development requirements of their respective constituencies. The Governor assured the delegation that these would be accommodated in the annual development program on merit and need basis. Additional Chief Secretary FATA Habibullah Khan and Secretary to Governor Arbab Muhammad Arif also attended the meeting.-SANA
