ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority is to open six residential sectors and two sub sectors in Islamabad. This was stated by Minister incharge of the Cabinet Division Qamaruz Zaman Kaira while replying to a question by Senator Talah Mehmood in the Senate today.
The Minister said the planned new sectors are D-13, E-13, F-13, D-14, C-13, and C-14. The sub sectors are D-15/2 and D-15/3. To a supplementary he said these sectors would be developed through public private partnership and land acquisition process is underway. He said affectees of various sectors are being accommodated in I-14 and if need be another sector would be opened for them.
Replying to a question by Dr. Muhammad Ismail Buledi, the Minister said ten road projects are at different stages of completion in the federal capital. He said eighty percent work of approach road to dumping site at Kurri, addition of third and fourth lane to Faisal Avenue from Nazimuddin Road to Faisal Masjid, construction of underpass at Shaheed-e-Millat Road near China Chowk and dualization of Service Road in G-11 Sector has been completed.
He said ninety-two percent work of Lehtrar Road from Khanna Bridge to Tramari Chowk has been completed. The work on over five kilometers portion of this road was delayed due to late shifting of services and abnormal rains. The Minister said half of the work of underpass and flyover at Faisal Avenue and Jinnah Avenue intersection has been completed while eighty-five percent work of Service Road from G-8 to G-10 has been completed.-SANA
