PDA govt wants independent judiciary: Naik

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Farooq A. Naik has said that People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government believes in the supremacy and the independency of the judiciary. Talking to media men in here on Friday he said that the discussion of the Joint Committee of PPP and PML-N was continuing to finalize the resolution on the restoration of the Judges.

He said the final decision in this regard would soon be made and will be acceptable to everyone. He said the government would make all the decisions in a democratic manner. He said there is a democratic government now and would never come under any pressure. it would take decisions in public interest, he added.

PDA divided in Senate
ISLAMABAD: People’s Democratic Alliance has lost unity in Senate, upper chamber, as PONAM has decided to play role of opposition instead of allying with the ruling alliance. Jamaat-e-Islami and PONAM have decided to play role of opposition in the upper chamber of the parliament. However, JUI-F has decided to side with the ruling alliance. It is pertinent to mention that PONAM and JI have also decided that they will not join the opposition alliance which was former ruling alliance.-SANA
