LAHORE: Punjab government slashed the flourmills’ daily wheat supply quota by 25 percent here on Monday. The revelation was made by the flourmill owners while talking to a private television channel that the Punjab flourmills’ daily wheat supply quota had been cut down to 13500 tons from 18000 tons mainly due to scarce wheat stocks in government reserves.

Mill owners said that the wheat from new crops used to come by April 1 every year, but this has been delayed due to rains this year and even after April 15, flourmills would be supplied wheat 25 percent less than their quota.-SANA
