Gas cylinder blast kills 7, injure 20 in Lahore

ISLAMABAD: A gas cylinder exploded in scrap market of Missri Shah here on Thursday killing seven persons and injuring 20 others, most of them school gilrs. The blast occurred in a godown located in scrap market. Police officials said blast occurred due to gas cylinder. Blast caused the roof and walls of godown to fall while body parts scattered around the blast site. Officials of law enforcing agencies and police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Rescue workers have started taking the injured to hospitals. Death toll could rise due to critical condition of some of the injured.

Sherry Rehman condoles loss of precious lives in Lahore cylinder blast
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ms Sherry Rehman on Thursday expressed profound sorrow and grief over demise of seven persons in cylinder blast in Lahore. The blast also left about 20 injured most of them school girls. The blast occurred in a godown located in scrap market in Misri Shah Area.

The minister expressed her heartfelt condolence to the families of those who lost their lives in the blast and prayed that may Allah Almighty bless their souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear the loss with fortitude. She prayed for early recovery of the injured.-SANA
