Jamaat-e-Islami rejects Afgan’s allegation

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat Islami and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz reacted strongly here Wednesday and rejected statement of Dr. Sher Afgan Niazi alleging involvement of JI and PML-N workers in Tuesday’s roughing up of the ex minister in Lahore. PML-N leader Khwaja Saad Rafiq while talking to the media said that their party workers could not even think of such a gory act. He claimed that this was a misunderstanding that would be resolved once the investigations are completed.

Jamaat Islami leader said that the Tuesday act was condemnable according to any standards. He termed the incident antithetical to democracy and said that JI believed in patience and brotherhood. Rejecting the statement made by Dr. Sher Afgan Niazi, Jamaat leader said that no member of the Jamaat was involved in the act and further said that the allegation was unfounded.-SANA
