PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Wednesday that working relationship among the ruling coalition partners would steer the country out of the quagmire and succeed in its programme to put the country on the road to progress and development.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of NWFP cabinet during his maiden visit to Peshawar. Governor NWFP Owais Ahmed Ghani, Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Chief Secretary Sahibzada Riaz Noor, IGP Malik Naveed and other high-ranking officials of the provincial administration were present on the occasion.
Political parties with different programs and manifestos while learning from their past demonstrated political sagacity and maturity have decided to join hands at the center and in the provinces with sole objective to serve the country and the nation in a befitting manner. He said the present governments could rightly be called the “unity in diversity’.
He informed the cabinet members that the country was passing through difficult phase of its history nationally, economically and internationally and great responsibilities lied on the shoulders of the ruling coalition partners to live up to the expectation of the consensual confidence reposed in them.
He declared that present government would purge the country of the elements hampering its development pace and destroying its image. He told the cabinet that in the process we have also lost a great leader Benazir Bhutto.-SANA
