Agriculture chamber demand facilities, subsidies

LARKANA: Sindh Chambers of Agricultur unanimous passed a resolution demanding facilities and subsidies to the growers in agriculture sector here Tuesday. Sindh Chambers of Agriculture held Agricultural conference held here Tuesday at Rashdi Farm at Naudero under Ghulam Sarwar Soomro in the chair.

The conference was attended by representatives of several agricultural organizations. On the occasion, a unanimous resolution was adopted demanding the government to provide the facilities to the growers in agriculture sector as it was backbone of the economy.

The delegation demanded that rates of wheat, rice and other agricultural products should be fixed commensurate to the rates in international market. The government of Pakistan is paying six hundred rupees per forty kilograms, while the government is importing wheat with much higher rates, they maintained. They further demanded revision of prices of fertilizers and asked to fix rates of various fertilizers and water tax as done in Punjab.-SANA
