London: Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has returned to London after a month long visit to the United States with no intentions of imminent return to Pakistan. A private TV channel told while quoting Aziz’s family sources that the former prime minister is back in London after a month long visit to the US. However, he has no intentions to return to Pakistan. Shaukat Aziz is staying at the apartment of his daughter that is situated in the posh locality of Knight Bridge.
Shaukat Aziz went abroad a little earlier than the recent elections held in Pakistan. Interestingly, the arrangements for his visit to London and Switzerland were made by the government after which he did not return. According to sources there will be a debate in the newly elected parliament on the policies of the Shaukat Aziz led previous government whose futile policies led the country to multifarious crises.
It is also expected that the new parliament may demand for repatriation of Shaukat Aziz so that he should be made accountable for what he did during the last regime. However, the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) has decided not to defend him while President Musharraf has expressed his annoyance when the ex PM was criticized by some of the Q League members. Foreign office sources said that Shaukat Aziz has informed the Pakistani High Commission in London of his presence in the city.-SANA
