PM for quality scientific institutions in Islamic countries

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has urged the OIC countries to establish quality institutions to meet the perpetual need of well trained scientific manpower in member states. Speaking at the concluding session of the three-day General Assembly meeting of the OIC Standing Committee on Science and Technology (COMSTECH) , the Prime Minister said the decision of the COMSTECH to establish a research and training facility in Islamabad is a practical and positive contribution to the advancement of science and technology.

On this occasion the Prime Minister, in his capacity as Co-Chairman of COMSTECH announced a new executive committee of COMSTECH. Its members would be Azerbaijan, Iran, Palestine, Jordan, Niger, Senegal besides Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by 192 delegates from 52 countries and 19 international institutions.-SANA
