ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has decided to form two separate committees for drafting resolutions regarding restoration of the judges of the apex court and annulment of FCR. Federal Minister for Law and Justice will chair the committees, which will be consisting of the parliamentarians from the parties in the ruling alliance.
Talking to the newsmen after meeting of the cabinet the Federal Minister for Information Sherry Rehman said that to draft a resolution for implementation of the Murree declaration, which ensured restoration of the judges, a committee under the chairmanship of Law Minister will be formed. She added that another committee under the Law Minister will present proposals regarding cancellation of FCR in FATA after consulting the concerned parties in this connection.
The Information Minister said that the federal ministers will submit report regarding their plan for implementation of 100-day plan in a week along with details of the existing situation in their concerned ministries.
Sherry Rehman said that people were looking toward the new government after transfer of power. She said that transparency and running affairs of the government with justice will be their target adding that system of the parliamentary committees would be strengthened. The Minister said that public would be informed of the performance of every ministry from to time.
She said that various issues were discussed in the meeting; inflation is high, power shortage is visible and there are several other problems. She said, “We are facing several problems and people’s expectations are high; we have to move quick”
Regarding media she said that draft for removing the draconian and biased laws relating to media will be prepared till next Monday and order in this regard has been issued. It is pertinent to mention that first meeting of the cabinet was held under chairmanship of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani here on Monday. Political situation in the country, issues pertinent to the public, the government programme for next hundred days, and several other important issues were discussed in the meeting.
The Prime minister instructed the ministers to immediately take charges of their concerned ministries so that implementation of the government programme could become possible. The Prime Minister instructed them to also apprise him of the real situation in the ministries and submit a report in this connection before the next meeting of the cabinet. It was also decided that the cabinet will meet after each two weeks and in case of extra-ordinary situation it will hold a meeting a week.-SANA
