Lawyers boycott court proceedings

LAHORE: Lawyers boycotted court proceedings for one hour on Wednesday in Lahore. To signify their demands for restoration of deposed judges and independence of the judiciary, the lawyers in the city boycotted the courts. The lawyers stayed away from the court proceedings and organized symbolic hunger strike camps on the call of Lahore Bar and Lahore High Court Bar Association.

The lawyers hoisted black flags at the Bar offices. The lawyers who were tying black armbands chanted slogans for restoration of deposed judges and freedom of judiciary. Leaders of the Bar while condemning the November 3 step vowed to continue struggle against lawlessness and violation of the constitution. They said that they will continue their efforts for restoration of the judges and freedom of the judiciary.-SANA
