Police official among four killed in Hangu violence

HANGU: Four persons including a woman and a policeman were killed and 28 injured during violence and shooting incidents in Hangu on Friday. The district administration imposed indefinite curfew in Hangu after mortar shells and rocket attack followed by violence and shooting incidents which left at least four persons dead and 28 injured on the eve of Jashn e Nouroze.

Official sources said that a watchman of a local bank Ali Mardan, Police official Muzzamil, Waheed and wife of Faizullah were killed during the violence whereas 28 including two police officials sustained injuries. Eyewitnesses said that Jashn e Nourze festivities were in progress in city when miscreants targeted the venue with mortar shells and rockets. The attack led to firing from both sides.

Fifteen of the injured were identified as Nabiullah, Momin Khan, Gul Rahman, Mushtaq, Nazir, Tariq, Moazzam, Ghazi Marjan, Hameedullah, Haig Khan, Shaukat Ullah, Waheed Ullah, Shakirullah and Shah Nawaz.-SANA
