PM candidate withdrawn after consultations: Shujaat

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) would withdraw its candidate for the post of prime Minister after consultations with its allied parties. Talking to the stat TV, Shujaat said that Dr Farooq Sattar was not a candidate of only MQM but was joint candidate of PML and its allied parties, so he could not announce to withdraw his candidature anonymously.

“I have talked to Altaf Hussain and he has assured me that consultations will be held during a meeting in Islamabad today with its allied parties, after which a final decision will be taken in this regard”, he added. Chaudhry Shujaat expressed the confidence that any final decision would be taken unanimously which would be respected by all the allied parties.
