USAID awards grants to 20 local NGOs for clean drinking water

ISLAMABAD: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Saturday awarded grants to 20 local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to help communities in 10 districts and two Federally Administered Tribal Area agencies on clean water and hygiene practices in the country. The grants are part of USAID’s 17.9 million dollars Pakistan Safe Drinking Water and Hygiene Promotion Project. The three-year project complements the Government of Pakistan’s Clean Drinking Water Initiative by working with communities to ensure proper maintenance of water filtration plants.

Support for Pakistan Safe Drinking Water and Hygiene Promotion Project is part of the 1.5 billion dollars in aid, the US is providing to Pakistan over a five-year period to improve economic growth, education, health, governance, and earthquake reconstruction.-SANA

  1. It is stated that our NGO has worked on Safe Drinking Water in Rural Area of D.G.Khan. We have installed 30 handpump with the help of TVO in these rural area. But there is more need of the same. We want more and more funds for this. Please help us in this regard.
