ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Jamait-e-Ulma Islam (JUI-F) agreed over power sharing formula for formation of government in Balochistan Province. Talking to the media JUI (F) leader Maulana Ghafoor Haidri said that all issues were decided in the final round of talks for formation of government in the province. He said, “We agreed that chief minister and speaker will be from PPP and ministries would be allotted to the allied parties in proportion to their seats in the provincial assemblies.”
He added that the portfolios of ministers would be decided by the provincial chief minister. Maulana Ghafoor Haideri said that six to eight ministers from JUI (F) are expected in the coming provincial cabinet as the party had secured 10 seats out of total 65 in Balochistan Assembly.
PPP leader Syed Khurshid Shah said that all the issues were successfully resolved adding that that party had support of 55 members in Balochistan. He said that the power sharing formula had been agreed in an environment of mutual understanding and it would be implemented as it is.
It is pertinent to mention that on Thursday PPP and JUI (F) held two rounds of talks in Parliament House for formation of the government in Balochistan. Syed Khurshid Shah and Mian Raza Rabbani represented PPP in the dialogue, while JUI (F) was represented by Maulna Abdul Wasai, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Senator Talha Mehmood and Senator Rahmatullah Kakar.
Report suggested that PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari called in his party’s leader to Zardari house when the dialogues were going on. Infringing the dialogue the leaders went to Zardari house where important things regarding government in Balochistan were finally approved. Then final rounds of talks between both the parties JUI (F) and PPP were again held at 3:30 pm and the two parties agreed to form the government in the province.-SANA
