BIRMINGHAM: Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK has welcomed the declaration of Islamabad Kashmir Conference and expressed its hope that the recommendations of the conference will be implemented in letter and spirit. “It is right step in right direction which was need of the hour. But Kashmiri leadership should keep in mind that what matters the most are deeds not words,” said Mohammad Ghalib President Tehreek-e-Kashmir in a statement here Thursday.

He said a number of conferences were held in recent past at national and international level and joint declaration were signed by Kashmiri parties but all such efforts were sabotaged brulers. He said that Mirpur Conference and two other held in Gilget and Rawalakot had issued joint communiqué but ruling Muslim Conference and People’s Party created hurdles in implementation phase on the directives of Islamabad.

Ghalib said All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) was established on minimum common agenda of right of self determination but those who were acting on directions of New Delhi and Islamabad violated its constitution and divided the alliance to promote their own petty interests. These people can not be trusted as they have lost their credibility in the eyes of Kashmiri people.

He said similar alliances made in the past were mostly sabotaged by those parties who are not practically involved in the freedom movement leaving those sincere to the cause in the lurch. He said Muslim Conference and People’s Party always used Kashmir Liberation Movement as a bargaining tool to get power and they could do the same this time around with this all parties alliance.-SANA
