ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal has said that failing to implement decisions and ruling of the parliament could result in confrontation. Talking to media after the meeting of the PML (N) Central Executive Committee and Parliamentary Party here on Wednesday, he said that the party Chief Nawaz Sharif took the party members into confidence about the on-going dialogue with PPP for the formation of new governments and Murree Declaration. He hoped that the coalition partners would finalize the matter.
Asked about the power sharing between the PPP and PML (N), he said they are working on a formula on the basis of their representation in the Assemblies. He said nomination of candidate for the office of the Prime Minister is internal matter of the PPP and his party would respect their decision.
They have however, informed the PPP that the nominee should be bold enough to carry forward the democratic agenda. Ahsan Iqbal said the meeting also discussed in detail the challenges of law and order, price hike, unemployment and poverty and ways and means to overcome these problems. The members put forward a number of proposals to give immediate relief to the people, he added. The PML (N) central leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi also spoke to the media after the meeting. He said that two-third majority was needed in the parliament to endorse the steps taken by President Musharraf on and after November 3, 2007.-SANA
