Opposition moves adjournment motion in Senate regarding Army chopper crash

ISLAMABAD: United opposition in the Senate Saturday moved an adjournment motion in the Upper House of the Parliament regarding the Army helicopter crash in Wana that killed eight high ranking military officials including a Major General, two Brigadiers, a Colonel and three Captains. The opposition submitted an adjournment motion regarding the tragic incident as, according to the opposition, some of the sources are of the view that the helicopter crashed in the rugged mountains region after it was fired allegedly by miscreants.

The motion was submitted by opposition leader Mian Raza Rabani and eight other Senators including Prof Khurshaid Ahmed, Ishaq Dar, Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, Latif Khosa, Anwar Baig, Babar Awan, Safdar Ali Abbasi and Prof Sajid Mir. The senators demanded that it was a matter of national interest and therefore should be discussed on the floor of the House.-SANA
