ISLAMABAD: The government has taken all precautionary measures to check the spread of H5N1 virus of bird flu in the country.This was stated by Minister for Food and Agriculture Prince Isa Jan Baloch, Minister for Health Ejaz Rahim and Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Muhammad Amjad at a joint news conference.
Minister for Food and Agriculture Prince Isa Jan Baloch said the government has allocated more than one billion rupees for the establishment of laboratories, provision of equipments and training of staff throughout the country including Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas.
Minister for Health Ejaz Rahim said government is fully alive of the situation and there is no threat to human life.
Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Muhammad Amjad said the bird flu was found at two poultry farms in Karachi and eleven thousands infected birds were culled. He said vaccination is available and it will be utilized to provide safety to the staff working at poultry farms.-SANA
