PPP changes strategy of its election campaign

ISLAMABAD: PPP Secretary Information Ms Sherry Rehman has said that her party has changed its strategy of campaigning for the forthcoming general elections on Feb 18 in wake of the deteriorating law and order situation in the country. Talking to a private TV channel, she said, “Indeed we have made some changes in our programme wherein we would not be taking out rallies and focus our attention on corner and public meetings.”

Since we are to resume our campaign from the 7th while officially, as far as I know, would come to an end by 15th of February we are to have a short period of time in this regard, she added.
Any how we have finalized our schedule in this regard which includes several corner meetings especially in Punjab and Sindh, she further said.

To a query that who will lead the campaign, she said, Benazir Bhutto’s spouse Asif Ali Zardari will lead the campaign and besides him Makhdoom Amin Fahim would be also one of the main leaders who have to address a number of our election meetings, especially in Sindh, and obviously we would exercise maxim care in view of the state of security in the country.-SANA
