OKARA: Former chief minister and PML (Q) leader Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that suicide attacks continuing in the country were an attempt to disintegrate the solidarity of Pakistan.
Talking to newsmen at his residence at Sadiwala here on Monday, he advised all patriot people that they should work remaining above the politics to cement and fortify the country.
He said that some people having vested interests considered the development and prosperity of the country as threat for themselves, therefore, they were busy in conspiracies to weaken the country. To frustrate these conspiracies, he said, both the government and the people would have to play an active role.
Wattoo said that the foremost priority was the solidarity of Pakistan on which there could be no compromise. He said the external powers should not become part of conspiracies against Pakistan as the country is capable of resolving its problems itself. The PML (Q) leader said that by the grace of Allah, Pakistan had got the best technology as well as the best brains and the Pak Army was fully capable of defending the country. He dismissed reports of rescheduling the polls and said that elections would take place on February 18.-SANA
