No body allowed to take law into hands: Musharraf

pr-law-order.JPG RAWALPINDI: President Pervez Musharraf said Saturday that no body will be allowed to take law into hands and added that miscreants and anti-social elements cannot be allowed to damage lives and property of the common man in the guise of protest as the entire nation is mourning the tragic death of Banazir Bhutto.

Charring a high-level meeting at the presidential camp office he said, “Those taking law into hands will not be tolerated.” Caretaker Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani and other senior officials were present in the meeting.Musharraf said that a final decision on holding elections on January 8 will be taken after consultations with the political parties and added that the final decision on the polls would be made within the next few days.

President Musharraf warned that the elements who are exploiting the situation by looting and plundering would be dealt with sternly and the measures would be taken to ensure safety and security of the people. He said that the sympathies of the entire nation are with the bereaved family, leadership and workers of PPP in their hour of grief. He mentioned the problems being faced by the people as the chemist, bakeries, grocery stores and petrol and CNG pumps have been closed due to the fear of the hooligans and looters.
