NCA rejects foreign media concerns over Pak nuclear assets

RAWALPINDI: National Command Authority (NCA) Friday rejected foreign media concern over Pakistan’s nuclear assets and reviewed development of various projects related to country’s strategic capability and expressed its satisfaction over the pace of development. President Pervez Musharraf presided over the meeting while caretaker Prime Minister Mohammadmian Soomro, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Tariq Majid, Services Chiefs, senior military officers and scientists were also present.

The meeting also approved a number of proposals for strengthening the deterrence capability of the country. The National Command Authority took note of the hostile campaign in a section of the international media with regard to Pakistan’s nuclear assets. The meeting while reiterating that the security of the country’s nuclear assets was fool proof, advised against creating irresponsible alarm. It said Pakistan is capable of defending its interests and cautioned those contemplating misadventures.-SANA
