ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro has said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close brotherly relations and have always stood together in challenging times and have an abiding interest in each other’s progress and prosperity.
Talking to Ali S Awadh Asseri, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan, who called on him at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat here on Thursday, Soomro said that the people and the government of Pakistan have great love and respect for the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia.
He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy strategic partnership and the two countries enjoy unanimity of views on most global and regional issues. The relations between the two countries, he said, take strength from a common faith, history and culture He further said that the close relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia cover political, diplomatic, religious, trade, economy and a host of other areas.
The Prime Minister said that a large number of Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia are contributing towards the development of the Kingdom. The Saudi investments, he said, are growing in Pakistan in the areas of power, real estate and construction, thus strengthening the overall relations even further. The Prime Minister also appreciated the contribution of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosque King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz in making seamless arrangements to accommodate millions of pilgrims coming from all over the world to perform Hajj every year.
The Saudi Ambassador while reciprocating the feelings said that relations between the two countries are an example of close brotherly relations and would be strengthened further in future. He expressed confidence that the arrangements made by the Saudi government for the pilgrims would greatly facilitate the Muslims in performing their religious obligation.-SANA
