JUI (F) wants other parties to contest polls for democracy

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI-F) General Secretary Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has said that his party wanted that all the parties should participate in the general elections for the sake of democracy. In an interview here on Saturday, he said that JUI (F) has authorised party leaders at provincial and district level to make seat adjustments with other parties. He said a PPP delegation met with JUI leadership to discuss the seat adjustments. To a question, he said Jamat-e-Islami is a component party of MMA and we want that it would fully participate in the forthcoming elections. He said if Jamat-e-Islami opted for boycott then JUI (F) will request the Election Commission for allotment of ‘Book’ as election symbol.-SANA
