Talks on with media to implement code of conduct: Memon

sana5-4-1.JPG ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Nisar A. Memon has said that almost all the print and electronic media is freely operating and dialogues are underway to implement the code of conduct in letter and spirit. Talking to a Turkish Media delegation, the Minister said that the media in Pakistan has witnessed unprecedented growth during the last seven years.

He said besides the state run PTV and Radio Pakistan, there are 50 television and 40 FM channels in the private sector. He said the caretaker government is committed to conduct fair, free and transparent elections and provide conducive peaceful environment to the political parities.

Memon said that Pakistan appreciates Turkey’s support to the cause of the people of Kashmir and its help to earthquake stricken people. He also appreciated the efforts of Turk doctors, nurses and volunteers who had contributed a lot in quake affected areas. He said the recent visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul is the reflective of our deep rooted relationship.
