Minister inaugurates work on federal lodge extension

ISLAMABAD: The Caretaker government will make all its efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the Federal Government employees and provide them maximum official accommodation in the capital, said caretaker Federal Minister for Housing and works Nisar Muhammad Khan here on Wednesday in the inauguration ceremony of the extension of Federal Lodge 1 in sector G-5/1.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s resolve to provide maximum shelter to the government employees. He said that the government is aware of the growing difficulty of accommodation being faced by the employees. He appreciated the professional competence, dedication and service spirit of Abdul Rauf Chaudhry, Secretary for Housing and Works and other officials of the Ministry.

Earlier, the Minister was briefed about extension of Federal Lodge No. 1 and was informed that Rs. 64.525 million were spent on the construction of 33 rooms of the total 15 suits with a covered area of 38500 square feet as approved.

  1. What about maintenance of the existing government lodges, especially Gulshan-e-Jinnah. Many people are illegally occupying the family suits when even they are no more in government service. Could you please check who is occupying illegally Suite No. 11-B/72-FSC.

  2. I agree with Ms Nusrat that Govt should also improve its maintenance mechanism, especially illegal occupancy is on the rise in the federal Lodges. The case in point should be investigated.
