ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro has said that President Pervez Musharraf’s second term in office would facilitate the political process and open up avenues to streamline the functioning of various state institutions.The Prime Minister said this while talking to Malik Mohammad Qayyum, Attorney General of Pakistan who called on him at the PM’s Secretariat here on Monday.
The Prime Minister said every pillar of the state has an important role in the state affairs and each has its own sphere of responsibility. The national interest, he said, demands harmonious relations between all the institutions so that the country could move forward towards progress and prosperity.
He said the government has great regards for the Judiciary and would continue to maintain this respect in future as well. The Attorney General apprised the Prime Minister of the progress of various cases of the federal government pending before the superior courts. He also briefed him about the improvement in the functioning of the office of the Attorney General of Pakistan.-SANA
