Govt. denies rumours Musharraf is under house arrest

ISLAMABAD: Government denied rumours across the country that Voice Chief of Army Staff had placed President Pervez Musharraf under house arrest. Spokesperson of Aiwan-e-Sadr Major General (Retd) Rashid Qureshi termed the rumour utterly baseless and nonsense. There is no truth it all in these rumours and President Musharraf held meeting with foreign diplomats, the spokesperson said.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Tariq Azeem, while dismissing such rumours, said President General Musharraf has just administered an oath to the Chief Justice of Federal Sharia Court and held several meetings with foreign diplomats.
