Prices of essential daily use commodities record increase

ISLAMABAD: Necessary items and services during the month of August went costlier by 6.45 percent as compared to the same period previous year.According to official figures, daily use items prices in August as compared to the same period previous year rose by 9.23 percent, while their wholesale rates by 8 percent.Tomato August price as compared to July surged by 35 percent, chicken by 27 percent, vegetables by 9.19 percent, pulse Masoor by 6.8 percent and dry milk price by 6 percent.-SANA
