Wheat available on reduced price: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that due to proactive policies by the federal and provincial governments, wheat is now available in abundance in every corner of the country and the price of Atta has considerably reduced. The Prime Minister said this while talking to Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi, Federal Minister for Industries and Special Initiatives Jehangir Khan Tareen and Federal Minister for Culture and Tourism Dr. G.G. Jamal, who called on him at the PM’s House.

Premier said that government has increased the supply of wheat and there has been decline in the prices of all the essential commodities at the utility stores as well as in the open market. Jahangir Khan Tareen told the meeting that the network of utility stores has been expanded to nearly 3500 outlets all over the country and more are being set up to facilitate the people.

The Ministers congratulated the Prime Minister on the three-year performance report of the government which has been released recently and said that this is the collective success of every member of the government which has immensely benefited the country. They said with the successful re-election of President General Pervez Musharraf, country would continue to prosper in future due to continuity and consistency of policies. The Ministers also gave the Prime Minister overall review of their ministries and updated him on the status of various development schemes underway in their respective constituencies. Overall political situation in the country and PML matters also came under discussion during the meeting.-SANA
