ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Wednesday said that government believes in engaging with all the political parties in national interest and said that this would lead to national political reconciliation. The Prime Minister said this while talking to Pakistan Muslim League (Q) President Ch. Shujaat Hussain, Secretary General PML (Q) Mushahid Hussain Sayed, senior PML leader Hamid Nasir Chattha, Leader of the House in Senate Waseem Sajjad, Chief Minister Sindh Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Mohammad Yousuf, who called on him at the PM’s House.
The Prime Minister said the successful re-election of President General Pervez Musharraf would take the country forward on the path of progress and prosperity in addition to strengthening democratic system in the country. The meeting discussed PML’s strategy regarding the upcoming general elections and also reviewed various measures being taken by the government to promote harmony, development, prosperity and improving law and order.
The participants appreciated the three-year performance report of the government which has been released recently. They congratulated the Prime minister and said that this proves that record development has taken place in all parts of the country. They said long-term structural reforms undertaken in every sector during the present government’s tenure have improved the standard of living of the people and increased the popularity of the PML government.-SANA
