APDM, NAC marks country wide-strike, black day

ISLAMABAD: All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) and National Action Committee of Lawyers Wednesday announced a black day and countrywide strike on the day of submitting the nomination paper of President Musharraf for the upcoming presidential race on Thursday. According to sources, APDM and NAC of lawyers announced that a country wide strike and black day would be observed on the eve of nomination papers of President Musharraf’s re-election.

Government had already launched a crackdown against APDM workers and dozens of members in this connection had been detained. Confessing the arrest of opposition leadership and workers, government had said that due to the law and order situation the detained persons had been booked under MPO3, (Maintenance of Public Order). Despite government crackdown against the opposition, APDM had vowed to continue its struggle against the nomination of the president for presidential run added that the announced countrywide strike would be held in any condition.-SANA
