ISLAMABAD: While lauding the efforts of political parties of the ruling coalition, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Tuesday said Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and its allies played key role in political stability and economic prosperity of the country. The Prime Minister was talking to Imtiaz Shaikh, Member of Provincial Assembly from Shikarpur Sindh and former provincial Minister who called on him at the Prime Minister House. The Premier said that all components of the ruling coalition i.e. PML (Q), PML (F), MQM, PPP (S) and Independents have played a key role for the sustenance of political stability and in ensuring economic progress of the country.
Shaukat Aziz mentioned that his recent meeting with Pir Sahib of Pagara Sharif was quite positive and fruitful. The unconditional support, he said, extended by him for the President and the government is a source of strength for us, which he added would improve the political atmosphere and help strengthen democratic process in the country.
He said the government has initiated numerous development schemes in Sindh particularly in the rural areas relating to provision of clean drinking water, electricity, gas as well as the construction of school buildings, hospitals and roads. He said it is a matter of pride for the government that record development has taken place during its tenure.
Imtiaz Shaikh congratulated the Prime Minister on the recently published three-year performance report of the government and said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz the present government provided better governance and economic policies that resulted in rapid economic growth which has benefited all segments of the society. He briefed the Prime Minister about the political situation in his constituency and different developments schemes underway in Shikarpur relating to the provision of clean drinking water, gas and construction of roads.
The Prime Minister assured that additional funds would be provided for Shikarpur, as per requirement. He also said that the government has taken numerous steps for the uplift of rural areas to improve the supply of water, subsidised fertilizer and provided other facilities. With development in the agriculture sector, he added, employment opportunities would increase and the standard of living of the people living in rural areas would further improve.-SANA
